Dyslexia does not discriminate. The learning disability, which is a neurobiological language processing difference, can affect people of all genders, ages, and intelligence levels. Because dyslexics are frequently overcoming adversities, they develop a strong sense of determination when it comes to problem-solving. Dyslexics are often mislabeled as unintelligent or lazy due to their frustrations in and outside of the classroom, but they are often some of the most creative, intuitive, and extraordinary thinkers.
Many historical figures and modern celebrities have made admirable career-based and personal achievements, despite their struggles with dyslexia. Their stories of ultimate triumph serve as an example that dyslexia does not define or limit the success of those that it affects.
In this blog series, we will take a look at the lives of a few dyslexic public figures that have become known for the talent they have shown within their career field. Come back each week to read about their individual journeys as dyslexics.
