About the Author

Dr. Tolu Osoba is a dedicated special education specialist and dyslexia expert who combines rigorous research methodology with hands-on teaching experience. As a contributing faculty member at Walden University since 2011, she has mentored doctoral students while maintaining her role as a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist continuing her practical work in dyslexia intervention through LitNum Connections. Her expertise spans both academic research and practical implementation, supervising numerous doctoral dissertations while also providing direct student support and assessment services. She publishes a newsletter and podcast focused on structured literacy research and practice, demonstrating her commitment to bridging the gap between research and practical implementation in educational settings.

Fun Facts
  •   An accomplished ultra-runner who has completed two 100-mile trail runs, along with various ultra-marathon distances (75 miles, 50 miles, 50k) and numerous marathons. Actively contributes to the trail running community by organizing trail racing events.
